OUR STORY

RUNA'S ROOTS

At Runa Adventures, we’re driven by one simple, powerful idea: nature has a way of helping us reconnect—with ourselves, with the world around us, and with each other. Whether it’s on the trail, summiting a mountain, or simply breathing in the fresh air, we believe that outdoor adventures are a path to living more fully. And that’s exactly what we aim to help you do—step out of your routine and into experiences that make you feel alive.

So, what does Runa mean? It’s a word from the Kichwa language, spoken by indigenous people in the Andean region of South America. At its core, Runa represents the idea of being fully human and fully alive. It speaks to the energy and vitality that come from embracing challenges and pushing past your limits, whether on a steep mountain trail or just by stepping outside your comfort zone.

To us, Runa is more than just a name. It’s a philosophy. The act of adventuring, of running up a trail, or of gazing out over a vast, wild landscape, is a reminder that we are all capable of more than we think. It’s about discovering what it means to feel truly alive, and being fully immersed in the present moment—no distractions, just you and the great outdoors.

But Runa is also about connection. Yes, connection to nature, to your own strength, and to the world around you—but equally important is the deep, meaningful connection that happens when we share these adventures with others. There’s something special about tackling a challenge together—whether it’s helping each other up a steep climb, sharing stories around a campfire, or simply enjoying the quiet moments on a scenic trail. These experiences create bonds that last long after the journey is over.

So if you’re ready to get out of your head and into your body, to leave the everyday behind and experience something transformative, we’d love to have you join us. Because when you’re fully alive in nature—with others by your side—there’s no telling what you can achieve.
